To Run, To Cycle or To Die: That is the question

Doing healthy activities such as cycling and running in large cities like Barcelona can become a problem and a challenge, as the benefits of sport to our health can be counterbalanced by automobile air pollution. This photo-report was inspired by the day the author saw, in a traffic jam, a family all riding bikes, their kids breathing in the fumes from a city bus.
The lack of cycling lanes and the scarcity of public parks makes Barcelona a difficult place to enjoy sport. The city council makes great efforts to change this. For instance, new cycling lanes are being built in Passeig de Sant Joan and future plans have also been accepted to reduce traffic in the city by removing car lanes in La Diagonal. But the real question will then be: Is it enough?
